Requirements:Candidates must have experience with 3-D CAD real-time simulation systems. We are looking for candidates with experience simulating robotic equipment in a 3-D environment. The best candidate for this position will have experience simulating models created in 3-D CAD, importing those models into the simulation application and generating axes of motion and function logic in the models.
Tasks: This engineer will develop and improve methods of handling tubular visuals within the 3-D environment, creating more reliable and more realistic interactions between equipment and tubulars. This engineer will be responsible for analyzing loading and impact of 3-D methods and software currently used and will find ways to minimize CPU and GPU loading. This engineer will also be responsible to implement multiple tool control instances within the PC environment, either on the graphic computer, or on a second computer, “tool control” PC. This engineer will additionally be responsible to determine how to include requested simulation options such as down-hole and drilling simulation into future simulation capabilities.
This engineer will analyze the hardware and software being used and recommend changes if necessary to improve the performance of the graphics system in the portable simulators. This engineer will also find ways to improve the process of importing models into the simulated environment with a goal of minimizing loading on software and hardware without sacrificing the quality of the visual or ability to utilize the simulation system for MRP.
This engineer will be responsible for documenting algorithms used to control motion, and functionality of the models.
This engineer will also be responsible to determine best practices for, implement storage of and implement version control of the library models and combined model projects.
Summary / Skill Set: This engineer will have experience with the 3-D environment, with CAD programs and simulation systems. This engineer will be able to adapt to programming language requirements of the simulation application and be able to create logic and motion functions in the models. This engineer will be able to convert current tubular management, motion function and logic algorithms into programming languages used by simulation systems.
This is a six month contract to hire employment opportunity. Local Southern California candidates preferred (a relocation package is not being offered at this time). US Citizen or Permanent Resident status required. All offers of employment are contingent upon passing a 10 panel drug screen and criminal background check.
